Moonrise Kingdom - Suzy's Style

Wes Anderson's lastest film, Moonrise Kingdom is, without a doubt, my newest favorite film. My little brother and I have been waiting for it to come out for awhile; we're huge fans - to the point that he threw a Wes Anderson themed party. Everything in this film is perfect - from the characters to the CLOTHES.

The film follows two 12 year olds as they escape the world that doesn't understand them. Sam and Suzy fall in love as they can relate to each other's problems and socially awkward nature. Their escape brings a small town together.

I adore this film because we can all relate to the feeling of needing to escape... the feeling of wanting someone who just understands your quirks, and even appreciates them. The film was shot on 16mm, which helped create the dreamy, grainy look of the film.

The film takes place in the 60's, which means an amazing wardrobe. The film keeps a very warm theme and the colors used are dark yellows, and oranges. Suzy's dresses mostly consist of peter pan style collars and knee highs.
